Why Skepticism?

Sasquatch, Broken Windows, and Public Policy

Featuring: Ron Lindsay

Ron Lindsay asks, "Why are we here?" That is, why do skeptics and skeptic organizations have conferences, publish magazines, and focus their efforts on "soft targets" like bigfoot and homeopathy? Lindsay pushes back against the cynics and makes the case for the importance of skepticism in bridging the gap between the scientific community and the general public.

Ronald A. Lindsay, JD, PhD, is an author and the former president and CEO of the Center for Inquiry. He co-wrote the comments that CFI/CSI submitted to the FDA and FTC regarding the regulation of homeopathic products. His latest book is The Necessity of Secularism (Pitchstone 2014).

This talk took place at CSICon in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, October 28th, 2016.
